The Cascade at The Steel District

"I’ve lived here for two years and I’m sad to leave. The apartment building is kept very clean, and every maintenance issue I’ve had was addressed immediately. The security is good in the building and garage, and I’ve never had any issues. The building is across the street from Falls Park, where they’re opening a new ice skating rink and play area for children. It’s a short walk to downtown and also the local farmers’ market. It’s generally quiet and the neighbors are friendly and respectful. As some have noted, it is expensive for the Sioux Falls area, but if you’re coming from a larger city, you’ll likely find the prices comparable or less than what you’re used to paying. I do agree with another review that the pool can have a frat party vibe. I once watched someone jump the fence with a bottle of liquor to go to the pool. If you can go on weekdays, it’s much quieter and you’ll be able to actually get in the pool or hot tub. This complex doesn’t have many children, although they are welcome. Most of the residents are young professionals or empty nesters who have downsized. Overall positive experience, and I would recommend the building!"

"Out move in experience could not have been better. Morgan Saugstad did an excellent job of guiding us through the process and is still helping us as we have questions or need assistance. We could not be happier and love living here. Our Apartment, the maintenance of the property including beautiful courtyard landscaping are impressive. The other amenities from the coffee cafe, to the beautiful entrances and lobby, the 605 lounge and view from the terrace on 5th floor are all wonderful Thank you so much. Cheryl and Michael Boldt"

"I have lived at the Cascade for 4 years and love it here! The amenities are great, I feel very safe and comfortable living here. The apartments are open and bright with a lot of natural light which I love. I had been living in a studio apartment here in the Cascade since 2020 and it was the perfect amount of space for myself. I was ready for something a little bigger though but was not ready to leave downtown. I just upgraded to a one bedroom in my same building and the transfer process was very easy and management was super helpful with the transfer process which I am very thankful for!"

"This place is awesome! It captures what upscale living and Downtown Sioux Falls are meant to feel like. Staff is super friendly - Dylan is a true pro! The common areas looked great, the courtyard is STUNNING, and the location is perfect for anyone that wants that DT lifestyle."

"Beautiful building near falls park, lunch at Papa Woody's carried down to Severance Brewing is a good time, also some dessert ideas on the property if you like. Only complaint is that the commercial portions of the building are above street level, accessible only by stairs from the street level or a ramp at the northwest corner of the building, meaning to access Severance a wheelchair user must walk the entire length of the building twice (unless parking on the southwest side of the building, but if you are not driving)."
